The last book I read was The Luxe, by Anna Godberson.

The stroy was about a girl named Elizabeth Holland, her little sister Diana, her friend Penelope Hayes, and the love of her loife, Will Keller. It talks of how she comes home from Paris for the summer, and how she is at a ball for her best friends new house, and how nice she is. Penelope Hayes like Henry Schoonmaker, and they think that they love eachother. But before Henry can propose to her, his dad tells him he needs to marry someone who would make him look good, like Elizabeth. Sundays are the days were they have their visitors in the Holland home, and Henry goes, and takes Elizabeth for a walk, there he proposes to her. So Elizabeth says yes because, ever since her father passed away, her family has gone from high society rich class, to secret poverty. Marrying Henry will make life so much easier for her and her family. But Diana falls in love with Henry one night when he is waiting for Elizabeth to come down for a walk. Henry falls in love with her too, that is why he does not want to marry Elizabeth. So Henry and Diana have their secret love affair, and when Penelope finds out about her best friends engagement to the man she loves, she decides that the wedding isnt going to happen. Elizabeth told Will that she had to marry Henry, that it was the only way to make her family happy, but Will wants her to go to California with him where they can be out in the open and love eachother. The night Will leaves is the night that The Schoonmakers throw a ball for Henry and Elizabeths engagemenet. A week later Elizabeth and Penelpope are looking for a wedding dress, and Penelope tells Elizabeth that she can not marrry Henry. So they fake her death so that Elizabeth can go to California and live with Will, but Diana knows that is wasnt real, because Elizabeth had sent a note to her on the day of her "funeral."

I really like the book, I wouldnt change anything about it, it was just really good the way it was. I would give it %stars.
